AN: AU Becker/Connor Regency romance of many clichés and unlikely shenanigans. Becker has been injured following a hot air balloon crash. Connor has told everyone they are married so he can stay and look after Becker. Continues from here.
Becker had been furious. He shouted about ruined reputations and lies and gossip becoming history. Then Mrs Pembleblossom arrived with supper so they were forced to be polite until she left, after which Becker shouted some more and was sarcastic.
Eventually Connor got tired of apologising and repeated that Becker had been hurt and Connor couldn’t think how else they could stay together and it was late and he was going to bed.
So here they were, lying side by side, just as in Connor’s fantasies except that now Becker hated Connor and would never want to touch him again.
