Hiya, big-bang writers!
I know I'm not the only one out there who, um . . . who works really well under pressure. (That's why I'm staring at the deadline with three scenes left to write, right?)
Well, for those of us who may need a little more brain fuel in these last few days before the rough-draft deadline, I present:
Espresso brownies. (If you're in most cities in the US, you can get espresso powder/instant espresso at Whole Foods. I haven't had any luck finding any other sources, although I'm sure they exist. The internet suggests the fancy-pants section at your local grocery store, although mine didn't have it.)
Also in vegan. (This recipe uses regular instant coffee.)
Or, if you want something warm and spicy with the impression of being caffeinated but no actual caffeine, chai cookie bars. (Warning: you may eat all the batter before you bake it. This recipe courtesy
boosette.)
Or, if you want energy bars with actual nutritional value, here's a Larabar (nuts and stuff stuck together with dates) recipe. (Scroll down. I recommend dried cranberries and pistachios.)
And, when you're done, make these chocolate cupcakes as a reward. (I've got it on good authority that they're worth all the work.)
Does anyone else have any awesome, brain-fueling recipes to share? Leave 'em in the comments!
