Never Forget

I'm up at Turner right now, working on the remainder of an Easter spot for Cartoon Latin America... Juniper Lee, yay!
I'm taking advantage of the fast internet access (and the hot showers downstairs!!) but I don't have much time to spare, so I thought I'd share some images instead of a lengthy update....

The following was cross posted to found_objects

What do they have in the food machines over at Turner?

are you asking for a foto?

There are no food machines to my knowledge... nothing selling candy bars or chips at least.
There is a cafeteria called "Station Break" which is open 24/7 and serves a variety of food. At night the choices are limited to grilled food and sandwiches, but during the day we have an assortment of soups, salads, gourmet meals and even Chik-fil-a.
On each floor (of my building) they have soda machines which only take tokens. The tokens are free, and we get them from our producers. However, after a month of sodas and such sedentary work, most people cull their drinking and pay for water or juice.

We also get a special treat thanks to our producers. Twice everyday a lady brings around a snack cart filled with bagels, pastries, fresh baked cookies, chips, trail mix, and fruit... this has proved very helpful when I've mismanaged my bank accounts.

Goddamn. That whole blurb that Williams Street did on Turner not being very nice to work for sounds like a lie!

Are there executive washrooms? Are there places like a solid gold toilet where Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick can squeeze one out when they come to town?

yeah, I'm don't know what they have to complain about, since they just got new offices...perhaps they don't get free tokens... I haven't seen any golden toilets, but there was foozball and a pool table!
As with any company, I'm sure there are unwanted politics, but overall I love working with these people.

Yay pictures!
And btw the trailer for ATHF is on Youtube, but I didn't see the bit you animated, and really I wasn't impressed with the trailer to tell the truth, I felt it was trying too hard to be funny, and too drawn out. Hmm wonder if the rest of the film is like that?
Also not sure if it's the same trailer they are showing in theaters though?

So 300 was good? I keep hearing allot of folks digging it (mostly males) but there are some females who are saying the dig it, not sure it's on my top must see list while it's out, but I am slightly more curious about it now... and hey can't be worse then Ghost Rider:P

P.s those mask on you guys cracked me up.. it reminds me slightly of Apex Twin:P

Hope your night at work is productive and good, and you don't exhaust yer'self too much (remember small naps:P)

*kisses and luvs* Only less then five more days *squuee*

Hey Eddie,

Do you know anyone who has successfully applied for the T3 program? There's several good positions that I could qualify for, especially one at Adult Swim (77072BR) and some in interactive design (although those might be above my level I might apply anyway), but their website (www.turner.com/t3) is TOTALLY unclear about how you are supposed to send them a project or formatting guidelines, etc. The best I can guess is that you apply online and then mail them a project with printed copies of the resume and cover letter? I expected to be given an opportunity to send it online when I sent my resume and cover letter, but the system didn't allow me to do that. Also, they say that you had to apply by March 9th, but there seem to be several openings (which were opened after March 9th, actually). The announcements and publicity on the program is just really muddy, and it's making me nuts.

thanks,
kathy

ps: I dropped out of grad school to pursue a career in ANYTHING else. By which I mean anything.

Hey K,
I'm not sure, but I'll ask around when I'm up there later this week... I have a friend who's a programmer over in Game Tap on occasion, so maybe she can direct me where to inquire.

I agree, apply above your level if you feel you can reach it! That's how I've managed... considering that when I interviewed, I hadn't completed more than a single drawing in nearly 10 years!

I'll get back to you asap!
