Update: I also have an interview in Washington DC!  This has been an exciting day!

Teach for America didn't work out.  At first I was extremely disappointed--after all, if I didn't even make it through the first round of their application process, I assumed I didn't have much of a chance to make it into many other programs.  Apparently this was wrong though--I have two interviews for teaching fellowships, one in Chicago, and one ( Read more... )

Today I discovered that there are TONS of teaching fellowship programs out there, about one per state.  They are practically identical, and the best part is the majority of them use IDENTICAL applications, right down to the essay questions, so applying for each one takes me about 15 minutes.  I've had an unusually productive day ( Read more... )

I finished reading Gone with the Wind a couple days ago.  The ending was so sad that I had to wikipedia it to see if there was a sequal.  Sure enough, there is, apparently in the 90's Margaret Mitchell's estate comissioned somone to write the sequal.  Apparently it's over 800 pages of awful, but the important thing is that Scarlett and Rhett end up ( Read more... )
