What a week

I've found myself dragged into another pit of wondering Why with regards to writing, which makes editing ... well, grind to a halt, really, but when I manage to slog through it, it becomes an even slower and more painful ordeal than usual.
I wrote a random bit of a thing during lunch today to see if I'd feel better if there were some new words that

The printing part of the machine was having a lot of problems and paper jams, or claiming it was. I spent a good deal of Wednesday morning kicking it, hitting it, and poking my fingers into spaces really just meant to push papers out. As with anything mechanical, when it is working, there are inside bits that get /really fucking hot/.

Sigh. Not what I meant. Just that in the fanfic community there are all sorts of things meant to get people writing, challenges and whatnot, and plenty of those cater to providing a space or material for short things and atmospheric or little character studies that don't really work so well when you're writing original fiction.
