When I was in elementary school, I remember going to visit my uncle in Chicago a few different summers during basketball finals. It was REALLY SCARY to see all the fancy stores on Michigan Ave boarding up their windows just in case there were riots if the Bulls won (which. this was when they had Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and all those guys. so it was likely that they'd win.)
My neighbors in the fancy suburb I ended up living in would get the cops called on them several nights in a row around the 4th for shooting off fireworks past 2am. Do not miss that even a little bit. Actually, when my dad moved to Warrensville, a not-so-nice suburb of Cleveland, he preferred it because of how damned quiet it was at night. Any noise like fireworks, you're bringing all the cops down, on account of it being gunfire.
