Earlier today, I came across a weigh station that had no signal or anything indicating wether it was open or closed, and not seeing any trucks on the scale, I drove on by. Big mistake. The client seems buggy as crap on my laptop so far, but I won't know till tomorrow how this thing handles a game. Downloading the Portal demo to test it now. So I finally attended one of the monthly Arlington Furmeets. It's held in a park, and had quite a few attendees. A handful of fursuiters too, and lotsa junk food. So I was worrying a bit too much for no reason.  Turns out, Sprint lets you upgrade much earlier, though it did add a $50 fee to do so.  Got A Galaxy S3 for the $200 upgrade price.  Loving it, though it's quite a bit different than the Nexus I was used to.  Got a big, fat Otterbox Defender too, to guard against my usual clumsiness ( Read more... )

I may have made an expensive mistake.  When my phone broke, I had thought I was close to the end of my 2-year contract and would be able to get the upgrade discount on a new phone, so I let myself have a bit of pent-up rage release with the broken phone and smashed it repeatedly into the wall.

Was supposed to be home yesterday, but I'm still on the road.  Finally have a load going to Dallas that I pick up tomorrow, and I'll get in late tomorrow (thursday).

As for phone stuff, I caved and bought a prepaid cheapo Verizon phone to use until I can get home and get a new smartphone.  So woot, I can at least call people.

My phone died today.  As in, totally dead.  Possibly short circuited.  Started endlessly rebooting for no reason for an hour or so.  Battery pulls accomplished nothing.  Got the bootloader screen up once to try to do the recovery option and it froze on that.  Had to pull the battery again. My two year old Samsung Nexus S decided that the combination Power/Sleep button shall no longer work.  And a google search indicates this is very common, and not really fixable.  So time to get a new phone.  Though I wished this thing coulda made it three or four years.  Cellphones are overly delicate pieces of crap. :p
