I went through this about two years ago (2 root canals, one after the other). If my parents hadn't picked up part of the bill I would have ended up deeply in debt to the credit card companies as I had no insurance to cover that. Parents are wonderful sometimes.

Ouch on the dentist part and the hole in your bank account. This is why I don't go to the dentist! (although I might if there was still such a thing as an NHS dentist and it didn't cost me money to be tortured on a yearly basis)

Is there anything about dentists/dental work that doesn't suck? It should be against the laws of physics to pay that much for that kind of pain. *nods*
