Rising from lurk

For anyone who may have wondered where the hell I've been lately, I apologize. I'm in one of my bored-and-lazy-as-hell ruts, which basically translates into "I've been playing a shitload of Everquest and/or World of Warcraft because I feel too blah to do anything else". (I've decided that the Undead player race in WoW is cool, because they can eat you after they kill you to renew their health bar, and that's just hilarious. Also, the Undercity's motto should be You Can't Stop Here, This Is Bat Country. *is shot*) Anyway, I have a hugely enormous backlog of friends posts to read.

I went to the dentist last week to get prepped for my crowns, which I thought was going to consist of having a mold taken of my teeth. Oh noooooo. Yes, there were in fact molds taken, but I also got to have said teeth filed down into nubs. I was traumatized when I tried to feel what was left of them with my bottom lip. So I'm wearing a temporary crown now that covers all six of my upper front teeth, and it actually looks pretty good. It's sort of like wearing one of those plastic retainers in that I feel the need to suck on it. Which I've been doing a lot of since what remains of my teeth have been pretty sensitive and irritated (I'm guessing that's normal).

Dammit, I still have to go to the lab to pick out a color for my crowns (does that not sound hysterical, like I could get them in electric blue or something).

Also, some communications wires seem to have been crossed since Eric apparently never got told or he forgot that our dental insurance only covers up to a thousand dollars a year, and that did not factor into figuring our budget for my dental work, so having this crown work done slammed us with a Huge Fucking Bill. ($3755.50, to be exact.) Thank God my mother decided to send us a check for an early anniversary present, otherwise we'd have maybe forty-five dollars left in the bank. As it is, I think it only brings us up to a little less than two hundred. Mom has offered to take us out for our anniversary in lieu of us doing it ourselves (it will also be my dad's birthday, so we can get lots of celebrating done).

I think now would be a good time to sell my stock in Southern Company.

everquest, family, real life, world of warcraft, not amused
