The Pope's pronouncements are getting worse and worse. If this continues, he will sound a lot like Fred Phelps. If that happens, most folks in developed nations will perceive him as just another hate-mongerer.

I would like to believe you're right. Sadly, however, most of the Catholic faithful share his negative opinions about sexual minorities.

I couldn't either. I can grasp how he might feel "sad" at the acceptance things he doesn't feel are right; but, to claim they are a direct threat to the future of humanity comparable to deforestation and the like just baffles me.

People will die because of this. People die all the time because of the Catholic church. It makes me feel very frustrated and angry.

I hear you. Quite a lot of things from religious "authorities" (of many different stripes) lead to my feeling frustrated and angry.
