High summer in Paris
The sun sets at 10:30pm, the weather is HOT (100 degrees the last couple days), and cafe terraces everywhere are over-flowing with Frenchies and tourists alike. Wow, I feel like so much has happened in the last few weeks. First off, I did go to that first baseball practice and it was awesome! They seem like a super fun bunch of people: guys and girls, all in their 20's, and all French, surprisingly! Springtime!
The weather has oh so gradually transitioned from a murky, tepid sort of winter into an ever lightening, brightening spring. The daffodils are all in full bloom and you can see hints of other flowers to come. It's such a relief to actually see sunlight on the mornings where I have to get up before 8am ( Read more... ) -
Ringing in the New Year
Happy New Year! Now that it's the end of January I'm finally finding the time to sit down and write this. I had quite an eventful holiday trip with my sister, visiting Belgium and Ireland, and getting hit in the ear with a piece of flaming firecracker in Amsterdam on New Year's Eve--yes, really. My second month in Paris! Already! And so many things to talk about.

Well, there is some really good news and some really bad news. The really good news is that I know what school I'm going to be teaching at! It's a high school called LPO Edgar Quinet in the 9th arrondissement, near the Pigalle Metro stop.
