The "news" of the day... Jamie Lynn Spears, 16 year-old sister of fallen pop starley Britney Spears, is pregnant.

I have no moral position on this. 16, 26, 36, doesn't matter: I'm depressed only with the fact that the Spears clan continues to breed.

There's a decent chance that I might get that book for Christmas. My Christmas list reads, and I quote, "anything written by Nick Hornby, except About a Boy because, hi, I already have that one."

As a parent of an 11 year old girl, Nick had better take her off the network. However, as in all things like this, it does present you with the opportunity for a good discussion with your child. My daughter fully understands that this was someone who had everything--a TV show, money, fame, looks, etc. and now will lose most of that for at least the short run. Or at least she better.
