So, Meg and I finally took off on a vacation! We packed (lightly), dropped 'the kid' off at 'the grandparents', and off we went

Dang, regards the pool - some guardian angel was clearly at work there keeping you out of the pool. (and given that you'd just spent a week being on the water, I'm not quite sure I see the point of spending time in a hotel pool)
