Notes: Set during BtVS Season Three.
Summary: After returning from Hell, Angel finds himself drawn to Willow.
After he had returned from Hell, Angel found himself strangely drawn to Willow. For the longest time, he fought against the strange pull and he immersed himself in Buffy. And for a while, he was successful in fooling himself into believing that he didn’t feel anything for Willow.
However, everything came to a head when Faith and the Mayor captured her. Angel could no longer deny what he felt for the redhead. Outwardly he projected the same image of devotion towards Buffy, but inwardly his demon was howling in rage. Once they had Willow back, it tore Angel’s heart into pieces to watch Oz tenderly hold her and comfort her. Angel knew that it was too dangerous for anyone; even Willow, to know that he loved her. It was in that moment, that he decided to leave Sunnydale once the Mayor was destroyed.
Willow looked up at him and the look in her green eyes seemed to pierce him. Suddenly Angel realized that what he felt was shared by the redhead, and just like him, she had been hiding it from everyone else. Angel realized that neither of them would ever react on the mutual attraction because of their love for Buffy.
