Summary: Why Faith rejects Buffy.
Faith’s hand crept up to her swollen lip as she watched Buffy slam the door shut behind her. Part of her was screaming at her own stupidity for letting the blonde go. Faith knew that she could have had the blonde on her bed willing and ready to do anything that Faith had wanted to do. Yet she had resisted the urge to go after Buffy and comfort the blonde for her harsh words.
There was a part of Faith that refused to be a substitute again. To be used so that someone else could find the sexual gratification with her when they wanted to be with someone else. She didn’t just want to be a stand in for the person who was loved and wanted and truly desired. That had happened one too many times to her before she had made it to Sunnydale. Too many men in her life who had used her for sex while saving their hearts for the virtuous virgin in their life. And as much as Faith wanted Buffy, and even loved her, she wanted something more than a quick fuck because the adrenalin was running high.
Above everything else, she wanted more than just sex from Buffy because she loved her. As unwanted as that emotion was in Faith’s life, she couldn’t deny the intensity of her feelings for Buffy. It made her weak and vulnerable but she’d give anything to have Buffy love her back.
