Cross posted from playful_quills. The challenge was to write a description of someone, but damn if this doesn't say more about ME than I'd really like it to. Oh well.

I like you better without the sunglasses, your eyes as wide and blue as a newborn's peering out from strands of blonde hair. I want to know where your gaze is lying.
I watched your lips as you smoked this morning, startlingly pink against your still-pale skin and golden beard. You always hold yourself when you sit; your knees resting comfortably in the circle of your long arms, fingers with their bitten nails and tiny scars twined together. The sun caught on the fine hairs in your wrists. You told me that you'll miss me when I'm gone, then pushed the smoke out into the sunlight in one quick exhale, like you were trying to push the words away. I don't remember what I said; the wrong thing probably, because after we both laughed, you put the sunglasses back on.
