Disney is getting rid of the direct-to-dvd sequels.

I am happy about this. There were a few of the sequels that were good, but most were horrible and brought down the value of the company in my opinion.

While I am happy about this it will be weird not seeing DTVs advertised all the time. However they were very much out of control with a new Disney release being viewed as more of a "Oh yay more material for some DTVs!" Then a "yay new Disney movie!"

Disney's old stuff I love it. My fav is Sleeping Beauty.
Disney's new stuff don't care for. They to me are pulling away from the classics.. but hey thats my opinion.

So much animation to be scrapped...
But I basically agree. Some of the sequals were good (Return of Jafar and The Lion King 1 and 1/2 come to mind), but...really, Disney needed a little dignity back.

I just feel bad that all those 2D animators will be unemployed.

Maybe I'm just disconnected from the fan aspect these days. :/

Yeah it does suck for them. I think most of the movies were outsourced to China thou'. I'm not sure.
