Once again, I watched a completely random movie instead of something that has been lying on my shelve for three years waiting for attention. Strangely enough, it was a documentary this time - "An Inconvenient truth", portraying Al Gore's campaign on raising awareness of the global warming issues (primarily in the States). Tą pirmą grafiką kai žiūrėjau, tai irgi nelabai supratau, ką jis nori pasakyti :), bet pvz. apie terorizmą jis ten šnekėjo kaip tik ironiškai, priešingai nei bando parodyt šitas filmukas. Jo asmeninio gyvenimo detalės, kaip ir rašiau, man kaip tik pasirodė pernelyg neakcentuojamos. Koks nors "Farenheitas 9/11" - atviras, ir todėl nemalonus puolimas. Čia padaryta subtiliau, ir tai palieka įspūdį.

Maybe he bought enough carbon credits to offset the emissions of his campaign? I don't know if he did or not, but with everybody and his dog purchasing carbon credits these days, I would be surprised if Gore didn't. :-)

(OK, perhaps carbon credits don't actually slow down global warming very much. They have been likened to the indulgences Catholic Church used to sell to sinners in the Middle Ages. You could buy an indulgence and continue to sin happily, as if you had "zeroed out" your sins. :-) But I don't think carbon credits are as futile as that. If they go towards planting trees, or doing anything else to combat global warming, then they are good.)
