I really love working with children sometimes. Mark can be a real pain in the ass but working for his theatre I get to see Emma smile, Ben try on a cowboy outfit and Kaitlyn watch for my reactions during the dances. That's some pretty neat stuff right there...and all in one night.

tonight's rehearsal:
all of the different Oompa-Loompa songs overandoverandover for two straight hours...concluded by a child falling off the back of the stage and getting a huge bruise on her leg. (kind of negates the super-good feelings i had about working on this show after Tuesday's rehearsal.)

Just got back from seeing St. Joan at Olney. It was boring; Steven Schmidt was wonderful; I said hi to Shari and talked to Jarett; The End. J might be co-sound designing the Helen Hayes awards with Tony Angelini. Have I mentioned that at the load in Shari had me feel the baby in her belly? That was the coolest thing in a long time. Brendan and I just cleaned up cat puke from all over the hallway in front of our rooms. Great fun!

Road Kill Collector...sometimes I feel that that's about right. Today I spent the entire day scraping white paint out of screw heads so that we could take up & save some homosote. I drank far too much last night. I do not enjoy memory gaps and losing an entire day's worth of work. The end.

i just successfully removed spilled candle wax from the carpet...by placing a paper towel over it and ironing. don't ask how i knew how to do this- i somehow believe that i gained this knowledge from my time in the sorority...something about how we kept dripping wax on the chapter room carpet during ceremonies...and yes, i do own an iron ( Read more... )
