So this week I'm working at UMD. It is huge, anally organized and I suppose an okay place...but I miss Jim, CJ and Sid. At least Rich is there with me. I mean, the people are all nice (and I kept getting strange looks from some of them until we figured out that I knew them from Jason's Halloween party) but as much as I bitch about it, in a way I guess Rep Stage really is a home of sorts...however, I have to get used to the fact that it will be very different next year. Most of the shop is trying to find other things, Rich and CJ in the field of IT or something else where they can make more money...and Jim is either headed to Cal Arts for grad school or finding another job.
As for me, I haven't even expended much effort and am already getting stage management offers. Today some guy called me up and wanted me to stage manage Ragtime. It was something that I hadn't even applied to (and would totally conflict with the Chesapeake thing) but the head of Everyman Theatre (which I worked with on our co-production) had recommended me to him as the only non-union person he could think of who would be able to handle a large-scale musical. Aaaa! I don't even like musicals.
Fuck it, it's beautiful and I'm taking my paperwork outside. Right now.
