Makes me glad I live way out in the conutry. People don't care what you do as long as it's on your property. Reminds me of when the old neighbors we had went deer hunting and for a good few days there was a deer hanging from one of their trees.
But I think that's mainly due to how people are becoming way over sensitive to everything. It's really stupid, I mean as long as it's not illegal, they're not working at all hours of the night, and nothing bad will come from it that will affect you, there shouldn't be a problem.
People are rediculus. It's a well known fact. What frustrates me is that people take that obtusive-ness and put it toward yelling at their neighbors, or the service people at the store, or whatever instead of using it to change something. Like, i dont know, the government maybe. Or legislations they don't like. Or whatever else it may be that they sit there complaining about, but never actually do anything about. Instead they would rather bitch at their neighbors for something that is neighbor's right to do, under law, because it's THEIR HOUSE!
I work in the construction industry on the drawing end of the spectrum. I'm an architectural technologist with over 11 years in the field with my primary work being structural engineering. I can't tell you how many times we get calls from people who started construction on their house without a permit and had a stop order put on it
( ... )
Uh yes, I know all this. My father is a carpenter in the construction industry, like I said. That's not what my post was about. I was ranting about how old ladies that have no business tattling (cause that's what it is) on people on her street when she has no idea what permits are already in place or what her neighbors are doing or anything. It's not like I was complaining about how my family was trying to build without permits and we were found out. We always have our permits. I was just appalled that people that you think you know, and that you think are your nice neighbors are getting into your business and "checking up on you" or complaining because they don't like your expansions or whatever.
I'm sure people that tattle or report do not have safety first in their mind. They just want to be bitches or cause trouble. If they really cared, they would hop on over to the house and be all "hey neighbor! What's happening with your house?"
that is worlds of stupid! I mean...I get like...slowing crap down if you don't have the permits but 'messing with aura's' seems like a whole bunch of personal problem right there.
Yep, I know. We had a major remodel done on our hourse ...really, we rebuilt it. So we needed to push one little bit out a little further...like two feet. We needed a waiver. So you think, sure, pay the money and get it done right? No, we had to notify out neighbors and our neighbors neighbors. Of course the local busy body, pres of the water board, tree hugger bitch had to complain. Fortunately, the building people already knew about her and gave us the waiver. Oh her complaint? Not about the house, it was that we had an unregistered car in our driveway. Stupid bitch, at least WE HAVE A DRIVEWAY, unlike her. Still pisses me off and that was 12 years ago. All our other neighbors are totally cool. And we do live in a very rural area.
