Hey, guys. Wanted to give you the heads-up that I won’t be around much for the next few weeks. Said pseudo-hiatus is for a number of reasons, and while I’d like to be able to spout some Zen crap about “refocusing my energies” or say it’s some self-denial thing for Lent, it’s honestly because I’ve not been doing what I’m supposed to, and that needs ( Read more... )

Aw, honey, I'll miss you but you should do what you need to do. Refocus your energies, deny yourself, get your stuff done. As for good books, well, I'm using my super serious graduate English skills to re-read the Harry Potter series, so I really can't advise as far as book of distinguished taste. Do you like memoir? I'm taking this memoir class this semester and so I've been reading a lot of that, if you'd like some recs of that...

Thank you dear. I'll still be around, just not as much. My flailing will have to be condensed, as it were. ;)

I will check that out. I've heard it's good.

I hope you return soon!

Good books- what do you do like to read? I am a big classics reader. Catch-22. Confederacy of the Dunces. In Cold Blood. Separate Peace. Anything by Dickens. Shakespeare.

More modern stuff, Blindness, The Road, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Windup Bird Chronicle, Behavior of Moths.

*shrieks and clings to you in a panic*

ERIKA! NOOOOO! HOW WILL I SURVIVE WITHOUT YOU?

If you're into metaphysical/religious books, why not More's Utopia?
