I am disappoint.

...I just realized I haven't actually seen the sun in over a week. Sure, there has been a sort of dull ambient grayness overhead, but no actual sun at all. It is awful, and is making me construct elaborate schemes to stow away on the next flight to Hawaii I can find. This amuses me more than it should, given my current cold and sun-less situation ( Read more... )

You know, I'm gonna have to select and send you some of Mary Oliver's Ohio poetry to cheer you up about that state.

(Although she can't really talk, she moved to Mass. and yeah, London is pretty much amazing.)

I would appreciate that greatly! Really, I have an odd love/hate relationship with the Midwest, but it's always good to have positives pointed out by other people who appreciate it. I listen to U2's Rattle&Hum for that very reason.

No, no, no, no, no. *grins*

Today, I looked at pictures of my garden, all dark green, moon flowers opening, and lit with candles in the dusky glow of a last summer's evening and almost cried. To add insult to injury, as soon as I got up from the computer, I noticed it had begun sleeting. Ahhhh I am ready for spring!

Lost, Lost, Lost. I keep trying to get into that show. Josh accused me of being lame last night because I'm getting obsessed with Deadwood, but claimed Lost was "TOO SCARY" for me to continue.

Did I mention I'm afraid of polar bears?

It mocks me and I like it anyway. :P

Ughhhhh, I am ready for spring. Everything here is so dead and gray -- gray sky, gray woods, gray pavement, dirty gray residual snow. It is most disheartening, and I'm becoming more and more tempted to paint my room electric blue to combat this dreariness.

Bb, you should get into Lost! I think you might really like it -- the characters and mythology are incredible. You have to watch from the beginning, though, and avoid missing episodes, or it will make absolutely no sense. I din't get into it until early last year, really, because when it first came on the plane crash traumatized me and then the only other time I saw it was during an unfortunate torture scene. But then gave it another shot, and was a goner. It is brilliant on so many levels.

(Haha, polar bears. If it makes you feel any better, the show ade me paranoid about clouds of smoke. *laughs* But i's not really al that scary, promise.)

YES. Electric blue.

Well, your rec is certainly worth some weight in my book, and Josh really wants to see it. I'll def. give it another shot as soon as I finish Deadwood. (I can have only so many TV shows in my life at a given time. :D)

I am very excited. I need some bright color n my life.

Ha, awesome. I'll be excited to see what you think. Also, apparently one of the dudes from Deadwood plays somebody important on Lost, so... :D
