Amazingly, I actually wrote something! Granted, it's meta, and mostly me being whiny and turning it into a half-hearted character study, but at least it's something, you know? I think it may have actually cleared out my writer's block a bit, too, thank God. Hopefully I'll post some better stuff soon, but for now you get internal conversations

Ben has quickly become one of my favorite characters of all time. I'd recommend watching Lost just for him, pathetically enough, because I don't think I've ever run into a character as convoluted and brilliant as him. He's such a lovely and faintly disturbing mass of contradictions (Murderer! Devoted father! Baker of hams and keeper of time-travelling bunnies! Manipulator! Manipulatee! Snarky, googly-eyed piece of work!), and I can't decide whether I'd hug him or run screaming in the opposite direction sometimes.

Perspective is always good. That's almost always the point of this meta -- it's not as if I'm giving myself new information or anything, I'm just shifting perspectives and considering situations from new angles. It's turned out to be a very useful trick.

If you get into Lost at any point, I've got a strong sense that Ben might go after your brain even quicker than he went after mine for those very reasons. Who, me? I'm not trying to coax you into the fandom at all... :D
