If I am to assume you mean the consumption of alcoholic beverages Captain, I regretfully must decline. Tonight I am occupied.

You don't have to drink, Spock.

You are requesting that I accompany you. This would ultimately cease the schedule that I have prepared for the month.

It's a few hours for one night, Spock, it's nothing you can't adapt to.

Maybe they enjoy tormenting us.

Maybe, but I've seen people who enjoy tormenting others and they don't act like this. The deities act more like scientists with an experiment than tormentors.

I guess. They're suspicious, no matter how you look at it.

But people are still willing to trust them enough to make deals.

Were you here for the hair beast?

I just got here for the hair beast.

starchilde_lost June 20 2009, 06:55:54 UTC
Well, there's your answer, genius.

The hair beast was a reaction to the deities overstepping their bounds, taking what they shouldn't have. He showed up to return what was taken and shake a disapproving finger, along with his mom. Proof the deities are a) fallible and b) not the ultimate authority. They may still control the curses, but maybe they don't always dictate them. Or vice-versa.

How are you sure that's what happened?

Wish they'd make the fevers go away like the curses, yeah? Wonder if this's something they can't do anything about.

Or maybe they just don't want to. If it doesn't interfere with whatever plan they have, maybe they don't do anything about it.

Or maybe it's part of their plan, yeah? Man, I wish I knew what they were thinking.

That's what I was thinking. I don't think you can really take anything here at face value.
