Okay, so here's a collation of all the stuff that I can find out about Sto and Astrid's past, which isn't much, so I'll be doing alot of improvisation.

• Located in the Casivanian Belt.
• Cyborg prejudice - but it's on the way out - Astrid tells Bannakaffalatta that a Law was passed allowing cyborgs marriage licences.

Still... 20 years to earn a spare £100/$200 o_O

And I found a transcript - definitely 70. I'm going to presume years are shorter there. It makes sense with all the canon clues.
