[Selphie tries the gentle approach with this little girl that reminds her of herself at that age.]

Hey... you alright over there?

No. I don't want to be here. I have to go back!

[She shakes her head.]

No. Home is destroyed....

[She bites her lip to stop it from trembling.]

But someone was kidnapped and we have to find her!

[...and that green-haired girl nearly collides with a certain dragoon.]

Watch where you're- wait, what...

[That little girl brings to mind bad memories, of a certain village set aflame... and a mass genocide of summoners that he and Cecil had committed.]

[Rydia certainly remembers, as evidenced by her scream. Then, two things happen. She lifts her Ice Rod and directs a blast of ice his way.]

[And horribly, since she's so short, that blast of ice ends up aimed... kind of low. As his crotch is slammed by FREEZING COLD ICE, Kain doubles over. He makes a pained gasping sound.]

...wait... don't.

[Action]

[Rydia glares, now that he's more vulnerable. She still backs away, though.]

That was for Mist! And Rosa!

[Lili knows what it's like to be left alone, and before she switches on her communicator she looks pained. As soon as the video turns on, though, she's planted a gentle smile on her face.]

It's all right. Tell me... Is this Rosa a kind woman with blonde hair? If so, you have nothing to fear.

[This honestly reminds her much of when Rosa appeared in Traverse Town, frightened and barely consolable.]

[Rydia sniffles, but those words sink in after a moment and she looks at the screen.]

[She shakes her head and tries to remain gentle with the girl.]

Rosa has been saved from the darkness already and is on these worlds. I'm certain she'll contact you soon. Cecil and Kain are also on these worlds.

[Sadly, that last bit just sets her off.]

But--Golbez kidnapped her! And Kain's a bad man, too. He killed my mother and her dragon and my village and said he'd kill me!

[A giant frog in armour, somewhat taller than Rydia, walks by. He hasn't noticed her yet -- or if he has, he's not paying her any mind. What do, bitty?]

[She glances up...and stops sniffling, snapped out of her fit by the sight of the giant frog. Someone must have been hit with a spell. Wiping at her cheeks, she tries to focus and send Esuna his way. Even as she doesn't want to deal with other people right now, it doesn't seem fair to leave him like that.]

[Frog freezes when he feels a spell being cast on him, a hand going to the hilt of the Masamune in expectation of an attack. But nothing happens, as the spell doesn't have any effect.

His eyes fall on the girl, and the warrior releases the grip on his sword. He lets out an indignant croak.]

What sorcery was that, young one?

[She pouts as it fails to work, then steps back.]

I cast Esuna. It was supposed to turn you back, but...you're still a frog.
