Watchmen

I just saw Watchmen, and it left something to be desired.  Admittedly, I am partial to books over movies.  There were a lot of things about the film that were excellent, including the casting choices.

The thing left to be desired?  The thing that I will have?  Four and a half hour long director's cut, bitches.

Four and a half hours? Yes, please.

I'm not seeing it for a couple of weeks so we can't talk about it. ;_; ;_; sobsob

You are going to have so much fun at Imax! Get your read on, girl! We should have an after-the-fact Watchmen book club. We can just sit around and eat chips and talk about how awesome it is.

Yeah, all of my friends were pooping their little pants over the movie, but I also found it kind of meh. They did an okay job with some parts, but what was up with the sound track? I mean, the songs were good, but why the hell were they in the movie?

Also: I have never seen that many blue penises in my life.

Seriously! The soundtrack choices were a little odd. I know that "Desolation Row" by Bob Dylan is quoted at the end of Chapter 1 in the book, but they chose "The Times They are a Changin'"...maybe because it's better known? It's like someone said. "okay, all Bob Dylan's songs sound the same, so it doesn't really matter, right?" But, ahem, it kind of does. Haha!

No joke - I heard they were going to cover up Dr. Manhattan's junk...that was certainly not the case. I was talking to someone else about this, and they asked how Dr. Manhattan was circumcised, since he was obliterated and whatnot, and someone else replied, "he's Dr. Manhattan...he can do anything."

Excellent!
