because somehow i knocked a stone out of my commitment ring. couldn't tell you how it happened; i was counting money at work and noticed that it was missing.

FUCK.

told supremegoddess1 and she responded with a huge gasp and then "shit happens."

dammit.

I hate it when that happens. ravenshrinkery and I had non-traditional engagement rings that had amber stones, and we had to get a new pair of them because the stones fell out. Then the stones fell out of the NEW ones, and his band snapped. We've also had to send our wedding rings back to the artisan who made them for repairs more than once.

It hasn't been an omen. Together for almost 9 years, married for almost 7.

But yeah, it sucks. Especially when people start asking why you aren't wearing your ring.

As you well know, Scott and I are still together, going strong, and this is after I virtually destroyed my wedding ring, and after Scott lost his. Got mine fixed, bought Scott a replacement, and kept moving forward. Felt a little guilt, sure, but the rings are symbols - they aren't the relationship.
