My advice: you can't control who your brother chooses to date. You don't have to befriend her, but if you want to keep a relationship with your brother, you should make an effort to get along with her at family gatherings, and be willing to attend them even if she's going to be there.

I never said I wasn't going, nor would I. I had not even considered it to be a problem with either myself or my brother until the comment they made. It just felt off.
