Personally - I kinda didn't like Nu!Uhura...I do like Zoe Saldana, but I didn't like how Uhura was written (I also wanted more scotty, but hey...can't have everything) I prefered tos Uhura...

Argh. St. Anon, I am so sorry this is blowing up on you like this. I read the comments to the last post, and head-desked, with my fingers itching to reply. I read the first comment here, and had to go walk around the room to not type "it's not about the subject, it's about the venue; this is not the place for that discussion" about fifty times in response to it. To say nothing of what else I wanted to say.Personally? My impression of your attitude towards the way people seem determined to fight over Uhura is that you're tired of seeing her slammed but don't want the Kink Meme to be the venue for that battle. But even if your attitude were that she's a horrible character who should've been left out of the movie and deserves to be punished for existing, your primary goal is to keep the Kink Meme as low on argument as possible, which is a goal I see the reasons for and support

I haven't been able to refrain myself, and I'm going to make more of an effort in the future. It's just not worth it to engage - and these conversations are better had elsewhere, where people are willing to listen. I seem to have missed the latest maelstrom (thank goodness), but this.
IF THE PERSON IS ANON AND POSTING SHIT, PM THE MOD SO THREAD CAN BE FROZEN/DELETED. IF THEY ARE LOGGED IN, REPORT THEM SO THEY CAN BE BANNED.
AND IN ANY CASE, STOP ENGAGING THEM ARGGGHHH.
The 100+ comment threads arguing back and forth about what is offensive are annoying. Just fucking send a PM saying "O hay this is offensive pls take a look!" to the mod and keep on prompting. Taking up posting space arguing pointlessly on the internet with someone who probably doesn't give a fuck and isn't going to change their worldview on a goddamn kink meme takes up space for those non offensive prompters and writers who want to contribute.

And if it's a logged in user and you want to enlighten them to their own stupidity, for God's sake send them a PM and maybe they'll clean up their own shit.
