Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed. It's the chapter that's given me the most trouble to date, so the fact that it succeeded makes me ecstatic.

I love this series, and particularly this story, to bits! Your characterization of McCoy is wonderful.

(But...pssst! That should be "chest-baring" and "court-martial/martialed.")

Thank you! I'm glad I hit Bones well. I love him to bits, and as someone in a medical-type field I'm actually not intimidated by his technobabble!

(And thanks for the psst. That's what I get for shanghaiing my beta as soon as she gets back from vacation...)

I do so love this series. I can't wait to see what else you come with for these stories.

I did love this look at the relationships growing between the characters.

Thanks! I'm having a lot of fun writing these--figuring out who would get themselves into what kind of trouble, and then trying to peg Bones' reactions to that. It's also fun watching the senior officers slowly come together. I'm really glad you're enjoying it!

I found this to be the best of the series so far. I've been dying for more Abramsverse McCoy and Spock interaction, and I was really surprised by this! Not that you haven't delivered in the past, of course, but this was exactly the kind of thing I've been wanting to read. McCoy and Spock's emotion versus logic debate gets to the real crux of why they argue so much of the time, the basic differences between them, but then there's McCoy, standing up for Spock without question in the face of uncertainty. I sometimes think there isn't a selfish bone in that man's body. And it was just perfect for Spock to refrain from mentioning precisely what set him off, since he wouldn't see it as relevant information. Just overall wonderful characterization! Now I want more of this. You write McCoy and Spock so well together.

But hat's the lovely thing about these characters- despite their very real- and entertaining differences- they are all incredibly devoted to doing the right thing, especially when it's the hard thing to do.

It's one of the lovely things, definitely. Gene Roddenberry didn't just give us flawed characters--he gave us flawed characters we could still sort of look up to and emulate. They're examples of what we could be and should strive for in humanitarianism.

*blushes* Thank you so much! I love McCoy and Spock playing off each other. They've got fundamentally different world views, and yet, at the heart of it, they're both good people trying to do the best they can by the universe. There's a lot of respect buried in their arguing. It's quite fun to write.
