That must be it....

I think I've figured it out. And it's a bitter taste. I think I need to call up Whitney or Jo to maybe talk about it. I feel like I gotta talk it out and spill my guts or else I'll just make myself...explode ( Read more... )

Is what you're studying something that you really want to be doing, or just something you feel like you have to do? Because if you're feeling like this then maybe you need to change your course to something you're really passionate about?

I honestly don't think it is. That's the problem. :/ But I don't know what I'd change to. I mean, I've already gotten so deep into taking the courses required for the specific degree and I don't want to start all over on a different one. I really like computers and would like to do something with them, but there aren't really any courses available that I saw that would be helpful.

I'm passionate about music, but I'm not so sure what I'd want to do with it. I'm in the education program as of now because I don't want to be a performance major. But I don't really want to be a teacher. Wtf? lol

Teaching is definitely not something you should do if you're not passionate about it. I mean, remember being in high school? You could tell the teachers who were just in it to cash their paychecks, and their classes always sucked. You don't want to be that kind of teacher. It's not good for the kids, and it's not good for you.

Maybe rather than focussing on what course you want to do, you should focus on what career you want to do. You might be able to get into an IT/Computers job that offers its own training. You don't want to do a course just for the sake of doing a course. Trust me, I made that mistake and now I'm right where I would be if I'd just dropped out of school.

True. I just don't know what to do. Or how to go about it. Right now, I'm not even wanting to go back for second semester. Before then, I guess maybe check into an IT school? I don't know. :/

I know it can be hard to stay focused in school sometimes, especially when it's not something you feel passionate about. The only advice I can give you is not to over pressure yourself into doing the work, take time for yourself, but don't forget that just ignoring it will only make you feel worse in the end.
I wish I had someone to tell me that when I was in school.

Anyway, good luck to you!

What would be over pressuring? I think what's bringing me down to is how amazing awesome these students are. They freaking live and breathe their instruments and practice for hours every day - I've never had it in me to do that and I want to have a life other than slaving away at the piano. So I feel so inadequate!
Plus, musicians always tend to show-off whenever they get the chance....gag me.

I remember you telling me about this a little while ago.. :(

Maybe you're just feeling like this because of other stuff in your life, or the stress has built up? Or maybe you really just don't like what you're being forced to learn.

Think about it...maybe make a few changes..

*hugs*

Yeah, and I haven't done anything about it. I don't know what to do. I don't know who to talk to about it or what I'd want to do instead. Plus, I really don't like the university. Right now, I'm thinking second semester is going to be completely horrible. And maybe I just need to take a break or something. I need direction. :/

I sent you a msg on MSN, and your mom replied to me! :) She said you weren't there, and that you'll get back to me later. She was very sweet. :)

She told me that! God, I was embarrassed. lol It never just pops up and signs me in like that! I went and changed it to where I have to type in my password instead of having it already "remembered" so she won't be on again. haha

wsu can be intimidating at times because the environment isn't as small and relexed as cowlley was. i liked cowly, maybe you need a smaller school.

Very true. And I think that might help if I did go to a smaller school. But I also think it's because I'm not enjoying my classes and the degree I'm going for. :/ I'm all confused with what I want to do.
