oh, believe me, i was cringing as i wrote it, too. it was a horrible idea- but i'd already made the phone call, which was actually worse. this, believe it or not, was damage control.

i'm hoping that i don't have to apply for another job for several years, because i'm not very good at it.

yeah. now the uncertainty and fear of not knowing will be replaced by the uncertainty and fear of not knowing how to teach 8th graders. but i have a feeling that the second one will be easier to deal with.
