So many great old rec lists but half of the fics are gone. Very sad to see the loss of our culture, when it's probably the original Fandom/slash. This could be a cross fandom initiative. And cross-platform. I think Buffy and Smallville (shout out to Clex!) was one of the original fandoms on LJ, way back in the early 2000s and Harry Potter (<3 Severus). Both of which have also lost a ton of stories

I imagine, the other aspect of this story preservative initiative is commenting and reaching out to authors from years past

Killa let all the writers on the archive know that it was going down, and that anyone who needed help moving their stories over would get it. So I imagine those not moved it was because the author didn't want it done. AndI know of several zine authors who most adamantly didn't want their stories online

I used to keep a database of K/S zine stories on the Yahoo group, but then we lost the group and Apple stopped supporting databases.
