With regard to the first...since there are so many different terms for gender identity outside the binary (genderqueer, androgyne, genderless, agender, etc.), we just put "other" to be all-encompassing.

I do wish there was a "queer" option. I feel like that would be a pretty common one, and there's something so... other-ing about the "other" choice.

I find it very interesting that the modal age seems to be increasing... 18-19 years as the most common in the 2008 poll (http://community.livejournal.com/sextips/8587776.html, somehow I can't find the 2009 one) against the current meode at 22-23.

That said, the people who have voted are a tiny fraction of the total number of members, so I'm wondering about that. =P

I thought that too, but then the modal age of the 18-19 year olds should be 20-21 instead! =p

It might also be worth asking about how many partners people have been with, in addition to the other stuff. It does help give some idea of the levels of experience on average vs. age.

I find that number of partners has nothing to do with experience levels. Someone with 10 one night stands may or may not be more or less experienced than someone with one partner for 10 months.

You could post this as a question, we have had it a few times in the past and it always generates great discussion. :) But, the demographic poll is more about demographics than polling the membership.
