I caught one full episode of Kings (a few episodes in), and while it looked interesting, I was confused by it. When was it supposed to be set? With all the tech, I thought Alternate Earth, Alternate North America. Did they ever define it? What was the point? Was it a miniseries or a failed series?
It was a fictional world. The plot's a bit hard to define. More intellectual than action. Basically good vs. evil, but you're never quite sure who the evil one is. The king (played by Ian McShane) is sometimes a man of unfailing integrity, and a complete villain at other times. It was supposed to be a reg. series, but NBC didn't even give it a chance. Despite good reviews, and high ratings, (#4 in it's time slot) they pulled it from it's Sunday slot and put on Sat. at 10. After only 1 Sat. airing they pulled it until summer. They didn't order a 2nd season.
When I was watching this, the first thing I thought of was 'Kimiko is going to hate this costuming'. heh. Very Knights Tale - modern clothing in a medieval setting. Weird.
