Fabric stolen

Well, I am pissed, and I am trying to calm down. I had a box of fabric from Robin Netherton (yes, that Robin Netherton) stolen straight from my mail box, which has a broken door, because the damn key wasn't needed to actually open the damn mail box. It was a box with silk herringbone in a pale yellow, and cranberry linen that she sold to me. I am ( Read more... )

That is just not right...I have to say, after watching someone hop our back fence (on the way, rather hastily, *out* of our yard) at 2:00 AM last night I am starting to get the feeling that things are going to be a little more 'Wild West' than any of us would like for the next few years...

Yeah, it may be the case. I will take steps next time to ship to a different location for packages.

Oh, man. Any kind of insurance?
Sorry you lost it, it sounds beautiful...

Thanks. No insurance since it was fabric and not likely to be damaged. Not sure it would have covered theft, either. And it was beautiful and soft. I had a sample of it.

Oh, honey. That's awful. I'm so sorry. My heart bleeds for your loss, particularly as non-sewing people may well say, "But it was only fabric." Yeah, and coffee is just a beverage.

Thank you. And my coffee loving husband would fully understand your sentiment.

Suck-o-rama!

Are your mailboxes in an enclosed are so you know it's someone in your building? I ask because I thought you might post a note along the lies of "whoever picked up my package of fabric by mistake from box XXX, please return it to XXXX. Thank you."

That way, if it's something they don't want they have a way out in returning it to you.

No, I live in a residential home, in an open neighborhood with a wide variety of people. But I will post something on the mail box tomorrow. But most likely it got tossed in the trash containers that are collected on Friday, if the thieves didn't want it.
