I had the worst body image for years due to art classes that taught me to draw "fashion figures" with bodies the height of 7 heads (instead of the normal 5 heads) Add to that the fact that my face did not match the formula we were taught to use for feature placement & I was messed up well before HS (I took classes in elementary school)

The worst part of the add for me is the whole "these dresses really work" As if the success of a women's clothing is rated by how it catches men, Aggh!

I originally didn't see the ad that way, but you are right. How absolutely maddening! What, are we back in the 50s again? While I've learned ON does have some plus sizes in stores, I am not giving them a penny in my business.

I didn't take art classes until college, and nothing for fashion design or people drawing. I asked my friend sitting here with me (degree in art/graphic design), and he mentions that most real bodies are about 6 heads high but he's not positive if that's always the case. It works for him, as he's 6' tall, and his head is about 1/6th of his overall size. I wonder if women are different in proportions.

My body image all came in late high school to college years, as I was thin and hourglass and physically active until then. Then to protect myself from unwanted advances from guys (2 attempted rapes in one year) I put on my oversized body shell/armor, which I am slowly working myself out of in my 40s.
