I am annoyed with Old Navy.
All this talk about fashion... I just found out Old Navy, you know the store, actually has Plus Sized clothing! But only if you buy ONLINE!!! That's it? Us plus sized women are so horrible in their eyes that they don't have room for us so we have to buy our clothes online and try them on in the privacy of our homes, because what... we can't fit through their doorways, or scare their thin customers, or something worse?
Consider... that means in order to try on a few pairs of pants, I would have to charge to a credit card for 2-3 pairs of pants in various sizes for each style I want to try on. So, if I am interested in 5 items, I would end up being charged for 10-15 items, to end up with 5 items (if I got really lucky), having to return back 5-10 items. How expensive, not to mention how frustrating! Especially since it will take awhile for returns to be credited back to your credit card.
At least the return shipments are free (or so I read)... but seriously, I would have to head down to the local UPS shipment center (the closest UPS store to me) to drop off their clothes boxes, because you don't want fat people in your store returning your plus sized clothing, since you only accept the plus sized clothes via UPS. And I live near the Gap/Old Navy shipping center which is across town.
Then I just caught their latest ad campaign on tv, with plastic dummies wearing their latest summer dress, and fingers breaking off and all that. I saw it again, and I noticed the dummy's legs are much longer than their torsos, which throws the proportions off. So yeah... that's what they think of regular sized women, as plastic dummies wearing their dresses. Ok, yeah, I know it is an ad, but that's what I am reading it as. What a turn off.
So, tell me Old Navy... why the hell should anyone buy clothes from you when you don't care to have half the population even grace your store with their plus sized presence, and those who are thin are compared to plastic dress dummies.
