As I am in work, I can't see the video, but am not at all surprised. She has ALWAYS recycled her clothing. So has her daughter Princess Anne.
Its not so surprising as Her Majesty was a child and teenager through the war years and therefore lived through the hardships that UK experienced - she remained in London with her parents during the Blitz and Buckingham Palace was bombed! She also joined the ATS (Women's army) and worked her way up from the bottom to do her bit for the war effort!
"...maybe, the prices for sewing machines might come down..." Wouldn't that be a wonder? Then again, I am still sewing on the original 14 stitch (7 regular and 7 'stretch') Kenmore that I bought for $150 when I was 18 years old. The housemate has been making noices about getting my garment sewer (Consew) repaired as well - so I will be all set for quite a bit in any case!
