I am bringing this up because of a recent comment from chiarafrancesca, about a woman who was selling her fitting CDs. I don't know if this is the same person, but it did bring the following to mind

What you will like with Connie's info, is that she is focused on actual plus-sized women, and uses a 2x sized woman as her patterning base. Even her pattern drafting book discusses the mods needed for plus-sized tummies and other body adjustments.
