Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Sadly lacking in blackwork for my taste (heh heh) but otherwise, total absolute dress envy.....

Everything needs more blackwork. Always.

I seriously heart that fabric, though - is it totally embroidered, embroidered over a print, or what? Can't see well enough..

I saw the dress at the Pennsic A&S. It was absolutely stunning. The Pennsic Independent did a short article on it.

WOW .. that looks a lot like the Costume designed by Bob Mackie for the Elizabethan worn by Whoopie Goldberg to the 1999 Academy Awards Ceremony.

(It sold for only 1,920.00 at Christies, sigh)

http://archive.liveauctioneers.com/archive4/guernseys_auction/15126/0734_1_lg.jpg it looks like they tried to sell it again for 22k and no one bite. ;)

But OOOOOOO!!! I do like your find!

:::droolpantpantdrool:::

It meets the sparkly quota for French. I love it!

PSSSTTT - we are going to that style next season. I am working out the kinks in the wheel farthingales, and then buahahahaha!

I am supposed to do the same for Visalia faire in April. Just need to find the right material for the gown, and get working on the underpinnings - completely from the smock out, and time is getting low for me (I am slow since I have kids to worry about first).
