I'd say go medium. Uniquely you is a slab of foam, somewhat shaped. You make it your size by making a fitting shell of lightweight canvas so that it fits skintight on you. You can squeeze the foam smaller than the measurements say, or if you get really tiny, you can carve off some of the foam.

Congratulations on your shrinkage.

Ditto.

They're pretty squishy (with a lotta pushing, swearing and shoving), and the cover that comes with it is quite sturdy. I suggest getting at least 1 extra cover though, it's absolutely worth it.

I've covered and uncovered mine about 5 times now due to various adjustments, and while getting her back into her slip is a rather interesting episode of rolling around on the floor on top of her (literally!) swearing the whole time, I absolutely will never regret getting her.

Why the extra cover? And which size should I get as the extra cover?

I got the same size extra cover.. Mainly I did it so that I can have one that's modern (or early period) shaped, and one that's corseted shape, because she won't squish the way we will just by corsetting her. For the corset shape one, I just worried about fitting from the lower rib up.

The fitting part is a PITA, and a touch.. well.. I swore. A lot. ;)

I have a totally different Uniquely You dress form experience. It is not a good a form for me. Back to broad...waist too high. I also found that even though I was right smack in the middle of the form measurements I could NEVER get it to the right mease. I ended up shavin quite a bit off and still their were fitting issures. That being said I would go with a Small and pad it out. I did this myself with a SUPER cheap form I got and Have been THRILLED with the results. I also have used a system where they send you this stndard form (like a pro dreff form) a sleeve and various pads...and then you Pad it out till it looks like you with these neat foam pads...I lke this more because you can get a form to really LOOK LIKE YOU with lumps in all the right (wrong) places.

If I recall right, you are long waisted, as I am (hence the waist too high for you). How is your new form working for you with its waist position?

And I've seen the dress pads in Threads, I think. But I noticed that one had to have some sort of form to put them on first. My current dress form is too big (I will be selling it), and the waist/hips are too high, so I would need both the form and the pads. But it might work with the Small Uniquely You I guess. I will look into those. Thanks.

I'd recommend going by your shoulder measurement. If you have a small frame, you may have trouble with the shoulder width on the Medium. I bought the largest one they make and still need to pad it out, but I had to cut at least four inches off the shoulder width.

Thanks for the shoulder width suggestion. I just emailed them to find out the shoulder measurements, and if they don't write me back, I plan on calling them this week to find out.

How easy/hard was the foam to cut?
