What Size Dress Dummy to Buy?

Ok, to all you sewing people out there reading this. I need some comments and hopefully some suggestions.

For my birthday gift from my loving hubby, I want to get a Uniquely You dress form, which is the type of dress form I've settled on for my own needs. I've held off on getting one because of my fluctuating weight, and the unknown factor of what size I might end up when I finally shed most of my excess weight. But I need to sew, both clothing and costumes, and I am tired of waiting.

When I was a teenager, and in best form, I had the classic 36"-24"-36" measurements (I think I was age 12 then). But that was as a teenager, and I have no disillusion that I will get anywhere near there (especially in my waist and hip size).

So, which size of dress form should I go for. That is the question.

A Small has the following range: Bust 34.5" -40" Waist 24"-31" and Hips 34.5"-38.5"
A Medium has the following range: Bust 36"-42" Waist 28"-35" and Hips 39"-42.5"

I am currently at the top of the Medium range, and I know I will have to build up the waist a bit to match my current waistline (but only a couple of inches, huzzah!). My goal is to have a waistline under 35" (or less is even better) for health reasons. If I go with the Small size, I will have to build up more now, but I can go much lower in shape eventually. And since I don't know what my final measurement numbers will be, I don't know how low I will go.

So, do I get the Medium, the Small, or should I just wait another year.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions, or any thoughts I hadn't thought of yet. Thanks.
