Oh wow! I LOVE those ouches! Did you make them?

Yes, from polymer clay, but I used a button I bought as the base. I tried to hand create an ouch, and it just wasn't working for me. But using something else to make a mold from works well. I've since found a few more buttons that I want to try out as ouches.

Hmm.. I think I just might have to get my hands on some clay and play around a bit. Any tips for someone who's never touched the stuff?

The buttons I used on my daughter's italian gown just scream ouch, but they need a bit of 'editing' - not to mention a color change.

No tips other than get a good pasta machine (used is fine) to help soften the clays, and look around for a good book on polymer clays for ideas and basic how-to. Then just play with it and see what you can do.

You can even use it to make the molds from buttons, fire it, then use it repeatedly with other clays. I think starch is needed as a release for the molds. It's been awhile since I've played with it.
