Well, I just booked my room for CostumeCon 26 in San Jose. I am hoping Joanne will be rooming with me, along with casketgirl, if I can convince her to come north for the fun. You know you wanna, Heather.

We rarely now do conventions . I had considered doing it as a vendor, but they're juried and I am not ready to try to compete for that.

I understand not wanting to go. As a con, I am not so interested. As a social and learning event with other costumers, that's why I want to go. Competition is not my thing, although I am willing to give it a try.

And as to vendor jury, what is the worst they can say... no. Is that really hard to hear? I don't think they would tear you apart to your face, or they would really lose people. And the guys seemed nice, the GBACG members I've met and known are all nice (so far), so I don't think anyone would be snarky. The worst is simply no, sorry, we don't need your type of offering at this event. Maybe it is because they already have a lot of jewelers (happens a lot at ren faires). The best they can say is yes, which gets you in and selling your beautiful jewelry. So, long story short, give it a try. You will never know until you try.

And btw, I did get a few compliments of your necklace when I wore it at Costume College. :-)

Actually, I should clarify, I am not ready (as in I must get photos of a booth and content) to compete for juried shows, especially by September 1st.

If I had some idea of what I want to do for a display and style I have no problem submitting. If it was not juried I would be going. But I don't have time - with my current release schedule at my paying job to put together a concept and photo it before September 1st -when today is August 12th.
