Honestly, what downsides are there to this challenge? Right now, the worst that would happen is I didn't complete it in eight years. Ok, that's bad? At least I gave it a try. And this would give me a reason to continue trying new ideas and such, when I might just say... what's the point? Being a personal challenge, it pushes myself, and no one else. If I can get my Barony to join in, it might help us all out to improve ourselves, and help each other. In every case, its a win.

So, join me... you know you wanna.

You know, I just counted. I have nineteen items on my sewing list already. That's just sewing. If I did the persona challenge, I would totally not be doing anything different than what I had already planned to be doing.

Crap. I think I just talked myself into it :D

OOOps, sorry. Yes, I LOVE the piece. I hadn't checked mail for a few days, but I did yesterday and I was very happy. The length is just right, and it looks really, really good.

I am glad it made it. I just worry about my babies as they leave the nest and go through USPS.......... even inside boxes...

I'm not sure how they calculate that the 50th anniversary of the founding of the SCA is May 1, 2015. The first day of the SCA was May 1, 1966. 1966 + 50 = 2016 by my calculation.

Splain?

I didn't think about it, but I calculate the year by AS = (my age-1)... because I was born 12/30/66.

Which, brain wandering, drove my persona, as SHE was born in 1066. In Wales. Go figure.

I beg being a newbie to the SCA... but yeah, as I was born a month prior to the founding of the SCA, 2016 will be my 50th year as well.

Well, if that's the case, that would give us nine years, which only means one has to make 5.55 items a year! Even easier.

I may send an email to the person and seek clarification.

Ok, I think I've got it figured out... the 50th Anniversary for the SCA will be in 2016, but the year AS 50 will occur in 2015, because the SCA started their year 1 in 1966, not as year 0 (like how old we are when we are born). And since the challenge was based in part on the AS 50 and A&S thinking, that's why 2015 for the A&S 50 Challenge.

But that's my take, not the lady's reason. I will post that when she replies.
