Just wanted to post a few thoughts on Tudor Rose meeting tonight before I head off to bed. More to clear my head and maybe to ramble or rant a bit. ( cut because I don't want to bore you all... )
As I recall from my SCA days, one doesn't usually get invited to teach, one volunteers. The fact that you haven't been asked doesn't mean they wouldn't love to have you. It's just a cultural difference.
I know that that's not the usual ways things are done. But I've been asked to teach classes at SCA events and I've been invited to come to SCA events for the sole purpose of teaching classes.
The truth of the matter is that the person in charge of classes may not know you're available (or even willing) or may just be afraid to ask.
I know there were pirates in Elizabethan age, they know there were pirates, privateers, etc., but they still prefer to go GOAP or fantasy movie types. My husband, when he gets to play at faire, plays the Earl of Cumberland, the Privateering Earl, which is a great book to read on this lesser known privateer of Elizabeth's reign. I get to play his religious wife, who worried about him spending their lands and money on outfitting ships
