Hmph. I weighed in today at 218, a gain of a pound, but my waist size is now 38", a loss of a half inch. I am not sure what happened, except maybe I lost fat, but gained muscle? Or did things just redistribute around my body ( Read more... )

Muscle tissue is denser and heavier than fat tissue. If you're replacing avoirdupois with muscle, you won't see much shift on the scale, but your measurements will change.

I lost about 20 to 25 pounds last year, about 35 still to go. I walk 2 miles a day, five days a week. I'm still trying to get the cardio routine going for more rapid weight loss, but inertia has trumped over all over the last six months because of being sorta ill.

You are doing a great job! 2 miles a day is what I hope to get up to, but it's all I can do to get my son out for one mile. Hopefully in time he can get up there, too.

And I didn't think I built up that much muscle in just the few days I've been exercising, but hey, I will take the loss of fat and gain of any muscle.

Cam and I have done the better part of two. I remember he and I walked around the school last year (I think) and he only complained after we passed the high school. We shaved a little off by cutting in just north of the school, but it was still the best part of that two miles.

Of course, we rested a couple of times as well, and we did shorten the walk. He can do it, he just doesn't realize it yet.

Of course, it might also have been simply being with me. Who knows?

I think he is out of shape a bit, having been indoors most of the winter. And yes, he will go anywhere with you. He will complain a lot more with me, but we made the mile. We will work it up to more in short time.
